I expect a lot out of the little instrument. I try to play the same kind of complicated rhythmic blues and ragtime on four strings as on six. Thirty years later, I became fascinated with the ukulele. TEISCO DEL REY RED MOD
If you are looking to mod it, you can easily cut off that amp cord, bare the wires inside and wire it direct to an output jack instead. The pickup comes with a standard eight-foot 1/4" amp cord attached so you can mount this in your guitar and plug it right into an amp. The thickness is just a hair over 1/4", so with a little bit of modding (remove the ears), this can be used as a surface-mount pickup on a cigar box guitar. With the mounting ears, the total width is 5". The size of the pickup itself (minus the mounting ears) is 2 3/4" x 1 1/8". It is made in the style of the classic Teisco(tm)-brand Del Rey(R) "Gold Foil" pickups, and for such a simple (and inexpensive) pickup it really puts out great sound.
